Project Description
The Duqm 500MW/2000MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Oman is a grid side energy storage project led by the Oman State Grid Corporation (OETC), located in the Duqm Special Economic Zone. This project is positioned as the "core stabilizer" of the North South Interconnection Channel in Oman, providing power security for local industrial areas and achieving cross regional peak valley regulation. Energy storage power stations involve multiple step-up transformers, and their safe operation is crucial for the reliability of the entire energy storage system.
To ensure the safe operation of the transformer equipment in the project, an ALS50A-0.5 (10) A/3.53V transformer core grounding current online monitoring device is installed. As an independent intelligent monitoring unit, this device monitors the grounding current of the transformer core and clamps in real time, used for early detection of multi-point grounding faults caused by insulation degradation.
The monitoring module of this project adopts a design concept similar to that of the Kazakhstan project - real-time acquisition of current signals on the grounding leads of the iron core and clamps through high-precision sensors. Unlike the Kazakhstan project, which integrates modules into oil chromatography analyzers, the Oman project uses independent monitoring modules for flexible deployment and maintenance.
