Characteristics of Dry-Type Transformers

Dry-type transformers differ from traditional transformers in that their core and windings are not immersed in insulating oil, but are cooled by air convection. This type of structure includes two types: one is the epoxy resin cast type with solid insulation windings, namely the SC series, originating from German technology and currently widely used; the other is the open type with unencased windings, namely the SG series, employing American technology.
